Mark Ballash, founder of Viva Media in 2003, began his computer career very early in life.  At age 13, Mark and his best friend, wrote assembly code for Z80 based computers that allowed software to control sound output from a computer's tape deck storage media that could be used in games and music applications.  That was 1981.

Fast forward to 1998 (a couple different careers had passed by.. accounting, restaurant management, musician), Mark decided to go back to school for a degree in Computing Science.  During school he designed websites and repaired people's computers as a way of earning extra money on top of his pizza delivery job.

During his tenure at school Mark built up a pretty decent sized client list, so in 2003 started Viva Media in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Since 2003 Viva Media had grown from a company run out of his basement, to an office in an industrial area of South East Edmonton, to its current location in Capital place, overlooking the Legislature in downtown Edmonton.
